브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 쿠팡이 ‘보건의 날(4월 7일)’을 맞아 의료 인프라가 부족한 인구 소멸 지역 주민들을 직접 찾아가는 건강검진 프로젝트 ‘쿠팡 온동네 케어’를 본격적으로 시작했다.
‘쿠팡 온동네 케어’는 쿠팡의 물류 네트워크가 전국을 연결하듯 의료 서비스에서도 소외되는 지역이 없도록 ‘건강 안전망’을 구축하겠다는 취지로 추진됐다.
매월 1회 이상 전라·경상·강원·충청권 등 전국 읍·면 지역을 순회하며, 지리적 여건상 병원 진료가 어려운 마을을 직접 찾아갈 예정이다. 이를 통해 의료 서비스 이용이 어려운 지역 주민들의 불편을 줄이고, 지역별 의료 격차를 해소해 나갈 계획이다.
이번 프로젝트는 쿠팡과 대한중앙의료봉사회 소속 의료진 및 자원봉사자가 적극 협업해 진행됐다. 의료 보건 분야는 전문성과 비용, 운영상 난이도가 높아 기업 사회공헌 중 상대적으로 참여 비중이 낮은 영역으로 평가된다.
‘쿠팡 온동네 케어’의 첫 대상지로 선정된 전북 장수군은 인구 2만여 명 중 40.8%가 65세 이상인 ‘초고령 사회’로, 전국에서 인구 소멸 위험이 가장 가파르게 진행되는 ‘소멸 고위험’ 지역 중 하나다. 주민 중 상당수가 만성질환을 앓고 있지만 상급 병원과 거리가 멀고 대중교통 이용이 불편한 의료 취약 지역이다.
행사는 장수군 한누리전당에서 진행됐다. 대한중앙의료봉사회를 중심으로 대학병원 교수급 의료진을 포함한 의사·한의사·치과의사·간호사·약사 등 총 40여 명의 의료진이 참여해 수준 높은 의료 서비스를 제공했다.
지역 어르신과 다문화가정 등 의료 취약계층 400여 명을 대상으로 맞춤형 의료 서비스를 제공했으며, 거동이 불편한 어르신을 위해 의료진이 직접 가정을 방문하는 ‘재택 진료’를 병행했다.
주요 진료 항목은 △내과·정형외과·정신과·치과·한방재활의학과 등 종합 진료 △혈액검사 및 골밀도 검사 △도수치료 및 물리치료 △치매·우울증 검사 등으로 구성됐다.
진료 후에는 처방에 따른 약제와 상비약 키트를 제공했으며, 건강검진 과정에서 이상 징후가 발견된 환자에게는 상급 병원과 연계하는 사후 관리 서비스도 마련했다.
쿠팡 관계자는 “인구 감소 지역의 의료 접근성 문제는 기업도 함께 고민해야 할 사회적 과제”라며 “쿠팡이 전국에 구축한 물류 네트워크처럼 의료 서비스도 소외되는 지역이 없도록 사회공헌 사업을 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 쿠팡은 이번 장수군을 시작으로 오는 5월 충북 단양에서 다음 프로그램을 진행하는 등 전국 의료 취약 지역을 순회하며, ‘온동네 케어’를 지속 확대해 나갈 예정이다.
