통영충렬사 충무공 이순신장군 춘계제향 봉행

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 통영시는 이순신 장군의 호국정신을 계승하고 그 위훈을 기리기 위한 ‘2026 병오년 충무공 이순신 장군 춘계제향’을 통영충렬사에서 봉행했다고 7일 밝혔다.

이번 제향에서 초헌관은 천영기 통영시장, 아헌관은 강성중 경상남도의회 의원, 종헌관은 김용재 충렬사 대의원이 맡았으며, 제향 집례는 주재현 충렬사 이사가 진행했다.

제례는 전폐례를 시작으로 초헌례, 아헌례, 종헌례, 음복례에 이르기까지 전통 홀기에 따라 엄숙하게 진행됐으며, 제례악이 어우러져 장엄함을 더했다.

시 관계자는 “충무공 이순신 장군의 호국정신과 위훈을 되새기는 뜻깊은 시간이 되기를 바라며, 이를 통해 지역사회에 자긍심이 확산되길 바란다”고 전했다.

한편 통영충렬사는 1606년 선조가 이순신 장군 서거 후 통영에 이충무공을 기리는 사당을 세우도록 명하면서 건립됐으며, 서원철폐령(1871년)에도 훼철되지 않은 유일한 충무공 이순신 사당이다. 

조선시대 향사 절차서인 홀기에 따라 전통 유교제례 원형이 보존되고 있으며, 통영시(시장 천영기)의 지원으로 매년 음력 2월 및 8월 중정일(中丁日)에 춘·추계 향사를 봉행한다.

The original form of traditional Confucian ancestral rites is preserved according to the *Holgi*, a procedural manual for ancestral rites from the Joseon Dynasty, and with the support of Tongyeong City (Mayor Cheon Yeong-gi), spring and autumn ancestral rites are held annually on the Jungjeong Day of the second and eighth lunar months.
