세종SW교육체험센터, ‘2026 SW·AI교육 프로그램’ 본격 시동

세종시교육청이 초등학생들의 인공지능(AI) 역량을 강화하고, 교육과정과 연계한 실습형 학습 기회를 제공하기 위해  ‘2026년 교육과정 연계 SW·AI교육 프로그램’을 운영한다고 7일 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 2022 개정 교육과정의 정보 교육 강화 기조에 발맞춰, 초등학교 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 생활 속에서 인공지능(AI)과 소프트웨어(SW)의 유용성을 체감하고, 실질적인 인공지능(AI)과 소프트웨어(SW)활용 능력 함양을 위해 추진됐다

교육은 정보 교육의 연속성을 확보하기 위해 학급당 총 3회기로 진행된다. 

먼저 학교 교실에서 담당 교사의 지도하에 1회기 사전 학습을 통해 기초 역량을 다지고, 이후 학생들은 세종SW교육체험센터 내 교육체험 1·2실로 장소를 옮겨 2주에 걸쳐 2·3회기 심화 실습을 수행하게 된다.

이번 교육은 학생들의 흥미와 발달 단계를 고려한 4종의 융합형 프로그램으로 구성됐다. 특히 인공지능 기술을 사회 문제 해결과 예술 창작에 접목한 융합형 커리큘럼이 특징이다.

구연희 교육감 권한대행은 “2022 개정 교육과정의 정보 교육 강화 기조에 발맞춰, 학생들이 학교에서 배운 내용을 바탕으로 실생활 속 SW·AI의 유용성을 직접 체득하는 데 중점을 두었다."며 "체계적인 교과 연계형 교육 지원을 통해 관내 초등학생들이 디지털 시대를 주도할 핵심 소양과 컴퓨팅 사고력을 기르는 계기가 되길 바란다."고 말했다.

The Sejong City Office of Education announced on the 7th that it will operate the ‘2026 Curriculum-Linked SW·AI Education Program’ to strengthen elementary students’ artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and provide hands-on learning opportunities linked to the curriculum.

In line with the strengthening of information education in the 2022 revised curriculum, this program was launched for 6th-grade elementary students to allow them to experience the usefulness of AI and software in their daily lives and to cultivate practical AI and software utilization skills.

To ensure continuity in information education, the education will be conducted in a total of three sessions per class. First, students will solidify their basic competencies through a preliminary learning session in a school classroom under the guidance of a teacher. Afterward, they will move to Experience Rooms 1 and 2 within the Sejong SW Education Experience Center to conduct two sessions of advanced practical training over a two-week period.

This education program consists of four types of convergence programs designed to consider students' interests and developmental stages. In particular, it features a convergence curriculum that integrates artificial intelligence technology with social problem-solving and artistic creation.

The program is composed of: ▲Society + AI (AI, production of a polite speech conversation device utilizing voice recognition technology), ▲Art + AI (AI, making personalized musical instruments and physical activities linked to physical computing), ▲Environment + AI (AI, data-based analysis and visualization of environmental pollution severity), and ▲Safety + AI (AI, experience of future smart city technologies utilizing technology). Acting Superintendent Gu Yeon-hee stated, “In line with the 2022 revised curriculum’s focus on strengthening information education, we have placed emphasis on enabling students to directly experience the usefulness of software and AI in real life based on what they have learned in school.” She added, “I hope that through systematic subject-linked educational support, this will serve as an opportunity for elementary school students in our district to cultivate the core competencies and computational thinking skills necessary to lead the digital age.”
