가평군은 지난 7일 청평수력발전소와 '한수원과 함께하는 전기사랑 독서마라톤 대회'의 성공적인 개최를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 가평군도서관이 '2026년 한수원 지원 공모사업'에 최종 선정되며 마련됐다. 양 기관은 이번 협약을 기점으로 유기적인 협력 체계를 구축해 사업의 내실을 다질 계획이다.
오는 4월 13일부터 본격적으로 막을 올리는 '전기사랑 독서마라톤 대회'는 책 1쪽을 2m로 환산해 참가자가 사전에 신청한 독서 코스를 완주하는 이색적인 독서 캠페인이다.
한수원 측은 이번 대회의 성공적인 운영을 위해 총 5,000만 원 규모의 든든한 사업비를 지원한다. 가평군은 이를 바탕으로 다채로운 연계 행사 진행은 물론, 참가자들을 위한 기념품과 시상 혜택을 대폭 강화해 군민들의 독서 의욕을 끌어올린다는 방침이다.
서태원 가평군수는 "어려운 여건 속에서도 가평군민을 위해 전폭적인 예산 지원을 결정해 준 한수원에 깊은 감사를 드린다"며, "이번 사업이 일회성 이벤트에 머물지 않고 매년 이어질 수 있도록 지속적인 관심과 협력을 부탁드린다"고 전했다.
