추복성 의장은 위촉식에서 "결산검사는 지난 한 해 행정의 성과를 확인하는 동시에 군 재정의 건전성을 진단하는 핵심 과정"이라며, "한정된 재정자원이 지역 경제 활성화와 실질적인 삶의 질 향상으로 효과적으로 활용되었는지 책임감을 갖고 꼼꼼히 살펴주시길 바란다"고 당부했다.
결산검사가 마무리되는 4월 27일 이후, 위원들은 검사 의견서를 작성해 군수에게 제출한다. 옥천군은 해당 의견서를 반영한 결산승인안을 5월 31일까지 의회에 제출하며, 의회는 오는 9월 제335회 제1차 정례회에서 이를 최종 심의·확정할 예정이다.
