【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시가 지역 농업의 경쟁력을 높이기 위한 맞춤형 기술보급에 앞장서고 있다.
충주시는 8일 충주시농업기술센터에서 ‘충주시 민관협력 기술보급확산지원단 위촉식’을 개최했다.
민관협력 기술보급확산지원단은 농업 현장에서 즉시 적용 가능한 기술의 효율적인 보급·확산을 담당함으로써 지속가능한 농업을 실현하는 농촌의 발전과 경쟁력 강화의 중추적인 역할을 하게 된다.
이날 위촉식을 통해 지원단은 본격적인 활동의 시작을 알렸다.
지원단에는 농업기술·농업교육·과수육성 분야의 전문가, 농업인, 현장 지도사 등 19명이 참여해 분야별로 3개의 실무추진단을 구성한다.
각 추진단은 앞으로 2년간 △농업기술 현장 실증 및 보급 △품목별 현안문제 해결 지원 △농업인 교육·컨설팅 △신기술 수요와 신규사업 발굴 △농업 전반 공동협력 체계 구축 등 다양한 활동을 전개할 예정이다.
또한, 농업과학기술정보서비스(ASTIS)의 다양한 농업정보를 충주의 지리적 특성에 알맞게 가공, 분석 후 농가에 보급하고, 동시에 지역에서 생산한 정보를 새롭게 등록하는 데이터농업을 실현해 미래세대로 이어지는 농업의 기반을 확고히 할 계획이다.
배철호 농업기술센터소장은 “현장의 요구에 능동적으로 대응하고 실용적인 기술을 신속히 보급하는 역할을 지원단이 담당할 것”이라며 “농업인 소득 향상과 농업 경쟁력 제고에 기여할 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.
