주민 참여예산은 민선 8기 출범 이후 지속적으로 확대 편성되고 있다. 연도별로는 2023년 91억 원, 2024년 67억 원, 2025년과 2026년에는 각각 85억 원이 반영되어 최근 4년간 총 328억 원 규모의 예산이 편성됐다. 시는 올해 100억 원 전액 편성을 목표로 제도 운영을 추진할 방침이다.
