군은 증평농협, 증평새마을금고, 증평신협이 사단법인 증평자원순환시민센터와 함께 폐휴대폰·전자제품의 친환경 회수 및 재활용을 위한 ‘Zero Waste, 자원순환 실천 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다고 9일 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 금융기관과 마트를 비롯한 공공사업장, 학교, 단체, 직원 가정 등에서 발생하는 폐전자제품을 체계적으로 수거·재활용해 생활 속 자원순환 문화를 지역 전반으로 확산시키기 위해 마련됐다.
협약에 따라 증평자원순환시민센터는 ‘ESG나눔 모두비움’ 프로그램을 도입, 수거 요청부터 처리 완료까지 전 과정을 실시간 데이터로 관리한다.
이를 통해 폐자원 관리의 효율성을 높이는 한편, 참여 기관 간 자원순환 시스템의 표준화도 추진할 계획이다.
센터는 폐휴대폰과 전자제품의 무상 수거 및 친환경 재활용을 전담하고, 온실가스 감축량과 순환자원 생산 실적 등 정량화된 ESG 성과 데이터를 제공한다.
재활용 과정에서 발생하는 수익은 기부금으로 연계해 사회적 가치 창출로 이어갈 방침이다.
또한 지역 주민을 대상으로 한 교육과 캠페인을 병행해 ‘제로웨이스트’ 실천 문화를 확산시키고, 민관이 함께하는 지속가능한 순환경제 기반을 구축한다는 구상이다.
센터는 폐전자제품 1kg을 재활용할 경우 약 2.82kgCO₂eq의 온실가스 감축 효과가 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
