브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 효성은 지난 9일 서울 종로구에 위치한 푸르메재단에서 ‘2026 장애어린이 의료재활 및 가족 지원사업’을 위한 후원금 1억3000만원을 전달했다고 10일 밝혔다.
이번 후원금은 △재활치료가 시급하지만 경제적 어려움으로 적절한 치료를 받지 못하는 장애어린이 △돌봄 과정에서 상대적으로 소외되기 쉬운 비장애 형제자매 △돌봄 부담을 겪고 있는 장애가족을 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.
효성은 재활치료가 필요한 장애어린이 20명의 재활치료비를 후원하고, 비장애 형제자매 15명의 교육 및 심리치료를 지원할 예정이다. 지원대상 10 가정을 선정해 가족여행 프로그램도 진행한다.
효성은 2013년부터 푸르메재단과 함께 장애어린이 재활치료비 지원을 이어왔다. 2014년부터는 비장애 형제자매를 위한 교육과 심리치료 지원까지 확대해 왔다.
한편, 효성은 장애인의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 서울장애예술창작센터 예술가들의 창작활동 및 기획전시 지원, 시청각 장애인을 위한 배리어프리 영화 제작 후원 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 이어가고 있다.
