<브레이크뉴스 가평 = 이용하 기자> 급변하는 디지털 환경 속에서 정보 소외계층으로 전락하기 쉬운 지역 어르신들을 위해 가평군 가평읍이 든든한 ‘디지털 해결사’로 나섰다.
가평읍 지역사회보장협의체는 지난 8일부터 관내 4개 경로당을 직접 순회하며 어르신들의 디지털 기기 활용 격차를 해소하기 위한 ‘나도 손주와 문자친구’ 프로그램을 본격 가동했다고 밝혔다.
이번 찾아가는 밀착 교육은 스마트폰과 무인 주문기(키오스크) 사용에 어려움을 겪는 고령층의 일상생활 불편을 해소하고, 단절된 가족 간의 소통 창구를 복원하기 위해 선제적으로 기획됐다.
교육 현장에서는 단순한 기기 조작법을 넘어, 손주들에게 직접 안부 문자를 작성하고 사진과 이모티콘을 전송하는 등 ‘맞춤형 실전 소통법’이 집중적으로 다뤄졌다. 이와 함께 최근 식당이나 카페 등에서 필수로 자리 잡은 키오스크 이용법까지 꼼꼼하게 밀착 지도해 어르신들의 정보 접근성을 크게 높였다는 평가다.
노재풍 민간위원장은 “이번 교육을 통해 어르신들이 디지털 기기에 대한 막연한 두려움을 떨쳐내고, 멀리 있는 손주들과도 한층 더 가깝고 살갑게 소통할 수 있는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 전했다.
