13일 가평군정신건강복지센터·자살예방센터에 따르면, 자살 수단에 대한 접근성을 낮추고 위기 신호를 조기에 감지하기 위한 ‘자살도구 차단 및 환경개선사업’이 본격 추진 중이다.
센터는 최근 지역 내 마트와 약국, 숙박업소 등 주민 생활과 밀접한 업종들과 업무협약을 맺고 민관 합동 대응 체계를 마련했다. 이번 협약을 통해 ‘생명사랑 실천가게’ 2곳, ‘실천약국’ 1곳, ‘숙박업소’ 1곳이 신규 거점으로 지정됐다.
이로써 가평군 내에는 총 41곳의 실천가게와 5곳의 약국, 1곳의 숙박업소가 소중한 생명을 지키는 파수꾼 역할을 수행하게 된다. 특히 올해 첫선을 보인 ‘생명사랑 숙박업소’의 경우, 객실 내부에 자살예방 안내판을 상시 비치해 투숙객들이 위기 상황에서 자연스럽게 도움의 손길을 내밀 수 있도록 유도하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
센터 관계자는 “군민들의 일상과 가장 맞닿아 있는 곳에서부터 위기 신호를 빠르게 포착할 수 있도록 지역사회 협력망을 지속적으로 넓혀갈 것”이라며, “누구나 쉽게 정신건강 서비스의 문을 두드릴 수 있는 안전하고 건강한 가평군을 만들겠다”고 강조했다.
