【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=국립금오공과대학교는 김동성 ICT융합특성화연구센터장(전자공학부 교수)의 연구 논문이 국제 학술 출판사 와일리의 ‘Top Cited Article’에 선정됐다고 12일 밝혔다.

선정된 논문은 ‘Facets of security and safety problems and paradigms for smart aerial mobility and intelligent logistics’로, 드론과 UAM(도심항공모빌리티) 기반 스마트 항공 모빌리티 및 지능형 물류 시스템에서 발생할 수 있는 보안·안전 문제를 통신, 네트워크 아키텍처, 항법, 공급망 등 전 계층에 걸쳐 종합적으로 분석한 연구다.
해당 논문은 지능형 교통 시스템 분야 국제 학술지 IET ITS에 게재됐으며, 2024년 한 해 동안 가장 많이 인용된 상위 5편 논문에 포함돼 ‘Top Cited Article 인증서’를 받았다. 이 인증은 연구의 학문적 영향력과 활용도를 국제적으로 인정받았음을 의미한다.
김 교수는 지난해에 이어 올해도 동일한 성과를 거두며 2년 연속 수상의 영예를 안았다.
김동성 교수는 “이번 선정은 ICT융합특성화연구센터의 드론·UAM 기반 스마트 물류 보안·안전 연구가 국제 학계에서 폭넓게 인정받고 있음을 보여주는 결과”라며 “앞으로도 세계적 수준의 연구를 통해 지역과 국가 발전에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 김 교수가 이끄는 ICT융합특성화연구센터는 과학기술정보통신부와 정보통신기획평가원의 ‘지역지능화혁신인재양성사업’을 통해 민군 ICT 융합기술 연구와 전문 인재 양성에 힘쓰고 있다.

Kumoh National Institute of Technology announced on the 12th that a research paper by Kim Dong-sung, Director of the Center for Specialized ICT Convergence Research (Professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering), has been selected as a ‘Top Cited Article’ by the international academic publisher Wiley.
The selected paper, titled ‘Facets of security and safety problems and paradigms for smart aerial mobility and intelligent logistics,’ is a study that comprehensively analyzes security and safety issues that may arise in drone and UAM (Urban Air Mobility)-based smart aerial mobility and intelligent logistics systems across all layers, including communication, network architecture, navigation, and supply chains.
The paper was published in IET ITS, an international academic journal in the field of intelligent transportation systems, and was included among the top five most cited papers for the year 2024, receiving a ‘Top Cited Article Certificate.’ This certification signifies that the academic influence and applicability of the research have been internationally recognized.
Professor Kim achieved the same results this year as he did last year, earning the honor of winning the award for two consecutive years.

Meanwhile, the ICT Convergence Specialization Research Center, led by Professor Kim, is dedicated to researching civil-military ICT convergence technologies and fostering specialized talent through the ‘Regional Intelligence Innovation Talent Development Project’ of the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Institute of Information and Communication Technology Planning and Evaluation.
