【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=전국 최대 규모의 청소년 연기 경연인 ‘제24회 전국청소년연기경연대회’가 15일부터 참가 접수를 시작하고 본격적인 일정에 돌입한다.

대경대학교 연기예술과 김정근 교수(젊은연극제 집행위원장)는 내달 2일까지 전국 단위 예선 접수를 진행한다고 밝혔다.
올해로 24회를 맞는 이번 대회는 청소년 대상 독백·연기 경연 가운데 오랜 전통을 지닌 권위 있는 행사로, 한국대학연극학과교수협의회가 주최하고 젊은연극제가 주관한다.
특히 본선 수상자에게는 연극·연기 전공 대학 진학 시 폭넓은 선택 기회가 주어져 해마다 참가 열기가 높아지고 있다. 지난해에는 약 5천 명이 예선에 참여해 치열한 경쟁을 펼쳤다.
예선은 충청(세명대학교), 전라(전주대학교), 경기남부(안양대학교), 경기북부(경민대학교), 서울(동국대학교) 등 6개 권역으로 나뉘어 진행되며, 본선은 오는 30일 성균관대학교에서 열린다.
본선에서는 지정 작품을 바탕으로 연기 전공 재학생 2인과 함께 장면 실연을 진행한 뒤 질의응답을 거치는 방식으로 평가가 이뤄진다. 대상 수상자에게는 문화체육관광부 장관상이 수여된다.
김정근 교수는 “강원과 제주 지역 참가자는 예선 권역을 자유롭게 선택할 수 있으며, 청소년다운 독창성과 개성, 자유로운 표현력이 주요 평가 요소가 될 것”이라고 설명했다.
접수는 온라인 플랫폼을 통해 가능하며, 경기·인천 지역 참가자는 북부와 남부 중 선택 지원할 수 있다. 단, 강원·제주를 제외한 지역은 주민등록상 주소지에 해당하는 권역에서만 예선 참가가 가능하다.
한편, 대경대 김건표 교수는 “전국 60여 개 대학이 참여하는 젊은연극제와 연계된 이 대회는 오랜 역사와 권위를 갖춘 유일한 청소년 연기 경연”이라고 강조했다.

The "24th National Youth Acting Contest," the largest youth acting competition in the country, will begin accepting applications on the 15th and officially commence its schedule.
Professor Kim Jeong-geun of the Department of Acting Arts at Daekyung University (and Executive Chairman of the Young Theater Festival) announced that registration for the nationwide preliminary rounds will continue until the 2nd of next month.
Born in its 24th year, this competition is a prestigious event with a long tradition among monologue and acting contests for youth. It is hosted by the Korean Association of University Theater Professors and organized by the Young Theater Festival.
In particular, the enthusiasm for participation is rising every year as finalists are granted broad career options when entering universities to major in theater or acting. Last year, approximately 5,000 people participated in the preliminary rounds, engaging in fierce competition.
The preliminary rounds will be conducted across six regions: Chungcheong (Semyeong University), Jeolla (Jeonju University), Southern Gyeonggi (Anyang University), Northern Gyeonggi (Kyungmin University), and Seoul (Dongguk University). The finals will be held at Sungkyunkwan University on the 30th.
In the finals, evaluations will be conducted by having the finalist perform a scene based on a designated piece with two acting majors, followed by a Q&A session. The Grand Prize winner will be awarded the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.
Professor Kim Jeong-geun explained, "Participants from the Gangwon and Jeju regions can freely choose their preliminary region, and originality, individuality, and free expression characteristic of youth will be the key evaluation factors."
Registration is available via an online platform, and participants from the Gyeonggi and Incheon regions can choose to apply to either the Northern or Southern regions. However, excluding Gangwon and Jeju, participants from these regions may only participate in the preliminary round within the region corresponding to their registered address.
Meanwhile, Professor Kim Gun-pyo of Daekyung University emphasized, “This competition, linked to the Young Theater Festival in which over 60 universities nationwide participate, is the only youth acting competition with a long history and prestige.”
