(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 4월부터 5월까지, 글로벌도시 조성을 위한 생활여건 개선사업의 일환으로 인천지하철 주요 역사 5개소에 무인 환전 키오스크를 순차적으로 설치한다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면 시는 전국에서 네 번째로 외국인이 많은 도시로, 약 16만 9천 명의 외국인 주민이 거주하고 있다.
또한 2024년도 외국인 관광객 수는 전년 대비 43% 증가한 약 103만 명으로 환전 수요 역시 지속적으로 증가하는 추세다.

무인 환전기는 지난 4월 13일 유동 인구가 많은 부평역, 인천터미널역, 테크노파크역에 우선 설치됐으며, 5월 중 계양역과 검암역에 추가로 설치될 예정이다.
주요 기능으로는 최대 15개국 외화를 원화로 환전할 수 있으며, 달러(USD) 엔화(JPY) 등 주요 외화의 구매도 가능하다.
또한 모바일 앱을 통해 외화를 카드에 충전할 수 있고, 점자 버튼과 음성 안내 등 배리어프리(Barrier-Free) 서비스도 제공된다.

Incheon City announced that it will sequentially install unmanned currency exchange kiosks at five major Incheon Subway stations from April to May as part of a project to improve living conditions for the creation of a global city.
