이번 사업은 월 최대 20만 원씩 24개월간, 총 480만 원의 월세를 지원하는 제도로, 주거비 부담이 큰 청년층의 안정적인 생활 기반 마련을 목적으로 한다.
특히 그동안 한시적으로 운영되던 국토교통부 청년월세 지원사업이 올해부터 계속사업으로 전환되면서, 청년들의 주거 안정과 자립 기반 강화에 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
신청 대상은 부모와 별도로 거주하는 19세부터 34세 이하(1991년생~2007년생)의 무주택 청년 1인 가구로, 소득과 재산 기준을 모두 충족해야 한다.
청년 가구의 소득은 기준중위소득 60% 이하(1인 기준 약 153만 원), 재산은 1억 9천200만 원 이하여야 하며, 원가구는 기준중위소득 100% 이하(3인 기준 약 535만 원), 재산 4억 7천만 원 이하의 기준을 충족해야 한다.
