【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구마이스산업협회가 엑스코 서관에 사무국을 새로 열고, 지역 MICE 산업 지원에 본격적으로 나섰다.
협회는 15일 엑스코 서관 2층에 ‘대구 마이스 얼라이언스 라운지’를 조성하고 개소식을 가졌다.
이번 사무국 설치는 지난 2월 엑스코와 맺은 지역 MICE 산업 활성화 업무협약 이후 후속 조치다. 협회는 이번에 조성한 라운지를 통해 현장 중심의 협업을 활성화하겠다는 계획이다.
라운지는 회원사 전용 업무공간과 비즈니스 미팅 장소로 구성돼 전시·컨벤션 현장과 연계한 상담과 협업이 가능하도록 설계됐다. 그동안 각 기업별로 이뤄지던 영업과 네트워크 활동도 이번에 현장 중심으로 전환했다는 점이 특징이다.
특히 협회는 공동 홍보·마케팅 활동은 물론, 기업 간 협업 지원과 해외 바이어와의 비즈니스 매칭 기능까지 제공해 지역 MICE 기업의 실질적인 거래 활성화를 지원할 방침이다. 엑스코는 공간 제공과 운영 지원을 맡고, 협회는 기업 네트워크를 기반으로 프로그램을 운영한다.
김한수 협회장은 “현장에서 바로 비즈니스가 이루어질 수 있는 기반을 마련했다”며 “지역 기업이 글로벌 시장에 진출할 수 있도록 실질적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

The Daegu MICE Industry Association has opened a new secretariat in the West Wing of EXCO and has begun full-scale support for the local MICE industry.

The establishment of this secretariat is a follow-up measure to the business agreement signed with EXCO last February to revitalize the local MICE industry. The Association plans to activate field-oriented collaboration through this newly created lounge.
The lounge consists of dedicated workspaces for member companies and business meeting areas, designed to enable consultations and collaboration linked to exhibition and convention sites. A key feature is the shift in sales and networking activities, which were previously conducted by individual companies, to a field-oriented approach.
In particular, the Association plans to support the practical revitalization of transactions for local MICE companies by providing not only joint promotional and marketing activities but also support for inter-company collaboration and business matching functions with overseas buyers. EXCO is responsible for providing the space and operational support, while the Association operates programs based on its corporate network.
Association President Kim Han-soo stated, “We have laid the foundation for business to take place immediately on-site,” adding, “We will spare no practical support to help local companies enter the global market.”
