【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구행복진흥원 산하 대구광역시청소년문화의집 꼼지락발전소가 2026년까지 특화 프로그램인 ‘청소년 아고라’를 연중 운영한다.
이 프로그램은 방과후아카데미 청소년들이 직접 정책을 기획하고 실행에 참여하는 장기 프로젝트로, 행정 구조를 모델로 삼은 참여형 민주시민 교육이라는 점에서 주목받고 있다.
꼼지락발전소 방과후아카데미는 지난 3월부터 ‘청소년 아고라’ 프로그램을 본격적으로 가동했다. 이 프로그램은 단순한 체험을 넘어, 청소년들이 실제 행정 운영 방식을 배우고 직접 참여할 수 있도록 실무형 자치 모델로 설계된 것이 특징이다.
참여 청소년들은 행정국, 문화체육관광국, 보건복지국 등 실제 조직 체계를 본뜬 팀을 꾸려 활동한다. 이들은 규정과 조례를 제안하고, 환경·급식·위생·상담 등 생활과 밀접한 현안을 찾아내는 한편, 다양한 행사와 프로그램을 직접 기획하고 운영하게 된다.

연간 활동은 부서별 성과 발표, 우수 사례 공유, 모범위원 시상 등을 담은 ‘청소년 민주시민 포럼’으로 마무리될 예정이다. 전 과정에서 청소년들은 의견 제시부터 토론, 규칙 제정, 실행, 평가까지 의사결정 전 단계를 직접 체험하게 된다.
대구행복진흥원 관계자는 “청소년 아고라는 단순히 참여에 그치는 것이 아니라, 스스로 규칙을 만들고 운영까지 경험할 수 있는 프로그램”이라며 “앞으로도 청소년 주도형 활동을 확대해 자치 역량을 적극적으로 키워나갈 계획”이라고 말했다.
