<브레이크뉴스 평창 = 김일웅 기자> 평창군이 지역 내 근로 취약계층의 자립을 돕고, 주민과 관광객에게 편안한 휴식처를 제공하기 위해 팔을 걷어붙였다.
15일 평창군에 따르면, 군은 대관령면 평창올림픽플라자(축제길 33) 내에 평창지역자활센터 자활근로사업단이 운영하는 ‘백억커피’를 정식 개소하고 본격적인 운영에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.

이번에 문을 연 '백억커피'는 질 좋은 커피와 음료, 간식 등을 합리적인 가격에 제공하는 시장진입형 자활사업단이다. 매주 화요일부터 일요일까지 주 6일, 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 운영된다.
특히 자활 참여자들은 원활한 매장 운영을 위해 사전에 전문적인 서비스 교육과 실무 중심의 직무 훈련을 이수하는 등 성공적인 자립을 위한 만반의 준비를 마쳤다. 군은 백억커피가 지역 사회 내 따뜻한 소통의 공간이자, 자활사업의 긍정적 가치를 널리 알리는 주요 거점으로 자리매김할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

자활근로사업은 관내 만 18세 이상 65세 이하의 저소득층을 대상으로 공공 일자리를 제공하는 복지 사업이다. 현재 평창지역자활센터는 ‘행복도시락사업단’을 비롯해 12개의 자활근로사업단과 2개의 자활기업을 운영하며 지역 내 든든한 사회안전망 역할을 수행하고 있다.
