<브레이크뉴스 원주 = 김일웅 기자> 원주시가 수준 높은 문화예술 공연을 유치하며 시민들의 문화 갈증 해소에 나선다.
15일 원주시에 따르면, 문화체육관광부와 (재)예술경영지원센터가 주관하는 ‘2026년 대표공연 콘텐츠 지역유통 지원사업’ 공모에 원주시가 최종 선정되는 쾌거를 안았다.

해당 지원사업은 시장성과 대중성, 그리고 작품 경쟁력을 두루 갖춘 우수한 대표 공연들을 지역 내 공공 공연시설에 유통함으로써, 지역 주민들에게 기초 공연예술 향유의 기회를 폭넓게 제공하기 위해 추진되는 프로젝트다.
이번 공모 선정에 따라 원주시는 다가오는 2027년 1월부터 3월까지 원주 백운아트홀에서 음악, 무용, 연극 등 각 분야를 아우르는 다채롭고 수준 높은 공연을 순차적으로 선보일 예정이다.

세부 공연 일정으로는 ▲1월, 서울페스타 필하모닉 오케스트라가 선사하는 웅장한 ‘신카이 마코토 필름 콘서트’를 시작으로 ▲2월, (재)유니버설발레단의 우아하고 아름다운 정통 발레 ‘지젤’ ▲3월, 피에이치이엔엠(PHENM)의 완성도 높은 연극 ‘슈만’이 차례로 백운아트홀 무대에 올라 원주 시민들에게 진한 감동을 선사할 계획이다.
원주시 관계자는 “이번 공모 선정을 통해 시민들이 우수한 공연 콘텐츠를 멀리 가지 않고도 가까이에서 접할 수 있게 되어 기쁘다”며, “앞으로도 시민들의 공연예술에 대한 접근성을 높이고 문화 향유 기회를 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
