며칠 전 대한민국 대통령 이재명이 여러분의 마음을 크게 상하게 하는 말을 'X'에 함부로 긁어버렸다. 대한민국 국민의 한 사람으로서 참으로 미안하고 부끄러운 일이다.
슬기롭고 착한 한국인들은 이재명의 말이 어처구니없는 실수라는 것을 잘 안다. 그의 말을 앞뒤 가리지 않고 치켜세우는 정치인이나 언론, 방송이 있기는 하나, 그들은 늘 특정 세력을 추종해온 집단일 뿐이다. 이 나라를 사랑하며 오로지 국민의 평화와 행복을 바라는 한국인들은 결코 그들의 주장에 동의하지 않는다.
마음이 상하셨더라도 이는 '개인 이재명 '의 어긋난 행동일 뿐, 대한민국이라는 공동체가 다 그렇게 생각하지 않는다는 점을 꼭 알아주었으면 한다. 본인이 아직도 과거의 '성남 총각'인 줄 착각하고 잠시 벌인 가벼운 손가락질일 뿐, 대한민국 대통령이라는 무거운 자리에서 나온 진심은 아니라고 본다.
이스라엘은 대한민국의 둘도 없는 벗이자 우방이며, 홀로코스트 같은 야만에 맞서 함께 손잡고 나아갈 이웃이다.
우리도 사실 이스라엘이 하마스나 헤즈볼라를 공격하는 과정이 지나치게 비쳐 안타까운 마음이 들기도 하지만, 동시에 하마스와 헤즈볼라가 이스라엘 국민에게 저지른 테러에 대해서도 깊이 걱정해 왔다.
그러니 우리 두 나라는 앞으로도 어깨동무하며 미래를 향해 함께 가야 한다. 개인 이재명의 잘못을 너그럽게 보아 넘겨주고, 혹시라도 모사드에게 무서운 귀띔은 하지 말아주기를 간절히 바란다. 이재명은 누가 뭐래도 대한민국 대통령이니 이 점을 잊지 않았으면 좋겠다.
우리 대한민국 역시 나라를 빼앗고 국민을 전쟁터로 내몬 일본, 대약진운동과 문화대혁명으로 수천만 명의 인민을 희생시키고 육이오전쟁에 약 240만 명의 중공군을 보내 우리 국민까지 할퀸 중국, 우리 땅에 전쟁터가 되라며 총과 칼과 탱크를 대준 러시아 사이에 끼어 고단한 역사를 버텨왔다. 그렇기에 오늘날 이스라엘이 겪는 아픔은 물론, 지난 2천 년간 여러분이 떠돌던 눈물겨운 역사까지 깊이 공감한다.
이런 마음으로 여러분의 끝없는 행복과 평화를 빈다. 부디 노여움을 푸시기 바란다. 모사드가 무서우면서도 한편으로는 부러운 대한민국 국민 올림.
