아울러 소설가 김애란을 초청해 작가 강연회를 열면서 지역의 독서문화 확산에 본격적으로 나선다.
대구동구문화재단은 오는 26일 오후 2시 안심도서관에서 ‘2026년 대구 동구 올해의 책 선포식 및 작가 강연’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 주민 투표와 전문가 심의를 거쳐 선정한 도서를 함께 공유하고, 독서를 매개로 지역 커뮤니티 형성을 확대하기 위해 마련됐다.
‘대구 동구 올해의 책’ 사업은 지역 주민들이 함께 읽고 토론하는 대표적인 독서문화 프로그램이다. 올해는 총 80권의 후보 중에서 약 4,400명의 주민이 참여한 투표와 전문가 심의를 거쳐 최종 5권이 선정됐다.
선정 도서는 ▲사서추천 부문 ‘안녕이라 그랬어’(김애란) ▲성인 부문 ‘나직이 불러보는 이름들’(이동순) ▲청소년 부문 ‘스파클’(최현진) ▲초등 부문 ‘아들 사춘기 대 갱년기’(제성은) ▲유아 부문 ‘세상을 담아 갑니다’(김태임) 등이다.
선포식과 함께 진행되는 특별 강연에는 김애란 작가가 직접 참석해 작품 창작 과정과 일상에서 이야기를 발견하는 방법 등에 대해 이야기를 나눈다. ‘비행운’, ‘이중 하나는 거짓말’ 등을 통해 많은 독자와 소통해온 김 작가가 지역 독자들과 직접 만나 소통할 예정이어서 기대를 모으고 있다.

The Daegu Dong-gu Cultural Foundation announced that it will hold the ‘2026 Daegu Dong-gu Book of the Year Proclamation Ceremony and Author Lecture’ at Ansim Library on the 26th at 2 p.m.
This event was organized to share the books selected through resident voting and expert deliberation, and to expand the formation of local communities through reading.
The ‘Daegu Dong-gu Book of the Year’ project is a representative reading culture program where local residents read and discuss books together. This year, five final books were selected from a total of 80 nominees following a vote in which approximately 4,400 residents participated and expert deliberation. The selected books include: ‘I Said Goodbye’ (Kim Ae-ran) in the Librarian’s Recommendation category; ‘Names Called Softly’ (Lee Dong-soon) in the Adult category; ‘Sparkle’ (Choi Hyun-jin) in the Youth category; ‘Son’s Puberty vs. Menopause’ (Je Seong-eun) in the Elementary category; and ‘Taking the World in My Hands’ (Kim Tae-im) in the Toddler category.
Author Kim Ae-ran will personally attend a special lecture held alongside the proclamation ceremony to discuss her creative process and how to discover stories in everyday life. Expectations are high as Author Kim, who has connected with many readers through works such as ‘Contrails’ and ‘One of Them Is a Lie,’ is set to meet and interact directly with local readers.
