강원 홍천군 내촌면 서곡마을에 진정한 이웃사촌의 정을 나누는 따뜻한 봄바람이 불었다.
홍천군은 지난 18일, 내촌면 서곡마을 가족 공원 일대에서 귀농·귀촌인과 기존 지역 주민이 허물없이 어우러지는 ‘향기 나는 서곡마을 주민 화합 삼짇날 한마당’ 행사를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

홍천군농업기술센터가 주관한 이번 행사는 ‘귀농·귀촌 화합 프로그램’의 일환으로 마련됐다. 특히 전국 최초로 ‘귀농·귀촌 특구’로 지정된 홍천군은 단순한 주거나 경제적 이주 지원을 넘어, 이주민들이 지역 고유의 전통문화를 체험하고 원주민들과 자연스럽게 유대감을 형성하는 ‘정서적 정착’을 돕는 데 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
올해로 13회째를 맞이한 이번 화합 한마당은 마을의 무사안녕을 기원하는 전통 의식인 ‘수레 바위 제례’로 경건하게 문을 열었다. 이어 참가자들은 봄을 반기는 삼짇날의 전통 풍습에 따라 진달래 화전을 함께 부치고, 떡메치기 체험과 정성껏 끓여낸 추어탕을 나누어 먹으며 정겨운 화합의 시간을 가졌다.
행사장 곳곳에서는 갓 이주한 귀촌인과 오랜 세월 마을을 지켜온 원주민들이 둘러앉아 서로의 안부를 묻고 이야기꽃을 피우는 진풍경이 연출되며 감동을 선사했다.
