【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구광역시는 지역 기업 LVIS Korea㈜가 지난 16일(현지시간) 미국 플로리다주 포트마이어스에서 열린 ‘2026 에디슨 어워즈(Edison Awards)’에서 은상(Silver)을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

에디슨 어워즈는 세계적 혁신 기술과 제품을 선정하는 권위 있는 국제 시상식으로, IBM과 GE, 3M 등 글로벌 기업들이 수상한 바 있다.
이번에 수상한 LVIS Korea㈜의 ‘뉴로매치(NeuroMatch)’는 인공지능(AI) 기반 뇌·신경 디지털헬스 솔루션으로, 대구시와 과학기술정보통신부(정보통신산업진흥원)가 공동 추진하고 대구디지털혁신진흥원(DIP)이 수행하는 ‘AI 기반 뇌발달질환 디지털의료기기 실증지원 사업’의 성과물이다.
‘뉴로매치’는 뇌파(EEG) 판독을 지원하는 클라우드 기반 AI 의료 소프트웨어 플랫폼이다. 뇌파 분석 과정의 자동화와 판독 오류 제거, 스파이크 및 발작 탐지 기능을 갖춰 기존 수시간이 걸리던 해석 시간을 수분 단위로 단축함으로써 의료진의 신속하고 정확한 진단을 돕는 것이 특징이다.
대구시는 이번 수상이 지역 디지털헬스산업 육성 정책의 가시적 성과이자 지역 디지털의료기기 산업 생태계 성장 가능성을 보여주는 사례라고 평가했다.
시는 디지털헬스산업을 핵심 전략 산업으로 육성하기 위해 의료기관과 연계한 실증 환경 구축, 기업 성장 단계별 지원, 해외시장 진출 지원 등을 종합적으로 추진하고 있다.
특히 ‘AI 기반 뇌발달질환 디지털의료기기 실증지원 사업’은 2024년부터 2026년까지 총사업비 300억 원 규모로 추진되며, 지역 병원과 연구기관이 참여하는 실증 클러스터를 기반으로 디지털의료기기의 조기 상용화와 산업 확산을 지원하고 있다.
정의관 대구시 미래혁신성장실장은 “이번 에디슨 어워즈 은상 수상은 대구에서 육성한 디지털헬스 기업이 글로벌 시장에서 경쟁력을 인정받은 의미 있는 성과”라며 “앞으로도 지역 디지털의료기기 산업 성장과 해외 진출을 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

It is characterized by its ability to assist medical professionals in making rapid and accurate diagnoses by reducing interpretation time from hours to minutes through the automation of the EEG analysis process, the elimination of interpretation errors, and the detection of spikes and seizures.
Daegu City assessed this award as a tangible achievement of its policy to foster the local digital health industry and as an example demonstrating the growth potential of the regional digital medical device industry ecosystem.
To cultivate the digital health industry as a core strategic industry, the city is comprehensively pursuing initiatives such as establishing demonstration environments in collaboration with medical institutions, providing support at various stages of corporate growth, and assisting with entry into overseas markets.
In particular, the "AI-based Digital Medical Device Demonstration Support Project for Brain and Developmental Disorders" is being implemented from 2024 to 2026 with a total budget of 30 billion won. Based on a demonstration cluster involving local hospitals and research institutions, it supports the early commercialization of digital medical devices and the expansion of the industry. "Winning the Silver Award at the Edison Awards is a meaningful achievement in which a digital health company nurtured in Daegu has been recognized for its competitiveness in the global market," said Jeong Ui-gwan, Director of the Future Innovation Growth Office of Daegu City. "We will continue to actively support the growth of the local digital medical device industry and its expansion into overseas markets."
