[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시가 오는 4월 25일 중앙도서관에서 시민 100여 명과 함께 2026 시흥 올해의 책 선포식을 개최한다.
이번 행사는 시민들이 직접 선정한 도서를 공식 선포하고 지역 내 독서문화를 확산하기 위해 마련됐다.
선포식 당일에는 어린이 도서 부문 선정작인 모두의 수영장의 신현경 작가와 함께하는 북토크와 독후활동 및 사인회가 진행되어 시민들에게 특별한 경험을 제공할 예정이다. 또한 오는 11월까지 이어지는 시민 독서릴레이의 시작을 알리는 도서 전달식도 함께 열려 총 90개 팀의 독서 활동이 본격적으로 출발한다.
올해 선정된 도서는 어린이와 일반 및 환경 분야를 포함해 총 7권이다. 어린이 도서로는 모두의 수영장, 거꾸로 토끼끼토, 별에게가 선정됐으며 일반 도서는 안녕이라 그랬어, 노 피플 존, 단 한 번의 삶이 뽑혔다. 환경 도서로는 우리에게 남은 시간이 이름을 올렸다.
이 도서들은 지난 1월부터 시민 추천과 100인 시민선정단의 토론 및 투표를 거쳐 엄선됐다. 시는 선포식 이후에도 5월 김애란 작가 강연을 포함해 가족 독서골든벨과 통합 독서토론회 등 다채로운 독서문화 행사를 연중 운영할 계획이다.
