시는 20일 시청 중회의실에서 포항의료원과 ‘포항시 방문의료센터 운영’을 위한 합의각서(MOA)를 체결하고 공공의료 협력체계를 구축했다.
이번 협약은 의료기관 이용이 어려운 지역 주민들에게 방문진료 서비스를 제공하고, 보건·복지 자원과 연계한 통합 지원체계를 마련해 의료 사각지대를 해소하기 위해 추진됐다.
이날 체결식에는 장상길 포항시장 권한대행과 김신 복지국장, 포항의료원 관계자 등이 참석해 방문의료센터 운영 방향과 상호 협력 방안을 논의했다.
포항시는 앞으로 행정복지센터, 보건소, 복지기관 등과 연계해 대상자의 건강 상태와 생활 여건을 종합적으로 반영한 맞춤형 서비스를 제공할 계획이다. 또한 퇴원 이후 돌봄 공백을 줄이고 불필요한 재입원과 장기 입원을 예방하는 데도 힘쓸 방침이다.
이번 협약을 계기로 시는 행정기관과 공공의료기관, 지역사회가 함께 참여하는 협력 기반을 강화하고, 의료와 돌봄이 결합된 지역 중심 통합지원 체계를 확대해 나갈 예정이다.
박성민 포항의료원장은 “포항의료원은 방문의료센터 운영에 참여하는 공공의료기관으로서 지역 의료공백 해소에 적극 나서겠다”며 “방문의료서비스가 현장에서 실질적으로 작동할 수 있도록 긴밀히 협력하겠다”고 말했다.
장상길 포항시장 권한대행은 “방문의료센터는 의료 접근성이 낮은 지역 주민들에게 꼭 필요한 서비스”라며 “시민들이 살고 있는 곳에서 적절한 의료와 돌봄을 받을 수 있도록 다양한 자원과 협력을 지속적으로 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 포항시는 고령화와 1인 가구 증가에 따른 의료·돌봄 수요 확대에 대응하기 위해 방문의료, 재가돌봄, 퇴원환자 연계 등 통합돌봄 정책을 지속적으로 확대하고 있다.
