구미시는 20일 정부세종청사를 방문해 중소벤처기업부, 국토교통부, 농림축산식품부, 산업통상자원부, 과학기술정보통신부 등 5개 부처를 차례로 찾아 주요 국비 사업을 건의했다.
이번 방문에는 정성현 구미시장 권한대행과 관계 공무원들이 함께했으며, 각 부처별 전략사업을 설명하고 내년도 정부 예산안에 우선 반영해 줄 것을 요청했다.
중소벤처기업부에는 ▲AI·방산 특화 공유공장 구축 ▲‘창업도시’ 조성 사업을 제안하며 공장형 스타트업 스마트 제조·유통 거점과 경북권 창업 허브 구축 공모사업 선정을 건의했다.
농림축산식품부에는 스마트제조 푸드테크 지역혁신 클러스터 구축 필요성을 설명하며, 구미를 K-푸드 수출 경쟁력 강화를 위한 푸드테크 거점으로 육성해 줄 것을 요청했다.

정성현 구미시장 권한대행은 “지금이 정부 예산안 반영을 좌우하는 결정적 시기”라며 “권한대행 체제에서도 시정의 연속성을 유지하고 주요 사업이 정부 예산에 반영될 수 있도록 모든 역량을 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.
