충남 서산시의 관문 역할을 하는 고속도로 톨게이트가 도시 이미지 개선과 방문객 인상 제고를 위해 새롭게 단장했다.
4월 20일 서산 톨게이트 일원에서 열린 ‘고속도로 톨게이트 특성화 사업’ 준공식에는 이완섭 서산시장과 운산면 주민 등 50여 명이 참석해 리모델링 완료를 축하했다.
이번 특성화 사업은 총 39억 8,000만 원이 투자되어 서산과 해미 톨게이트 캐노피에 각각 서산의 브랜드마크와 해미읍성을 형상화한 디자인을 적용했다.
단순한 통과 공간에 머물지 않고 ‘도시의 첫인상’을 좌우하는 공간으로서 톨게이트의 역할을 재정립한 것이 특징이다.
