대전시교육청이 지역 직업계고 우수 인재들의 역외 유출을 막고 지역 내 안착을 돕기 위한 ‘대전희망인재 추진단’을 구성하고 본격적인 활동에 돌입했다.
교육과 취업, 그리고 정주로 이어지는 선순환 구조를 만들기 위해 지역사회의 모든 역량을 하나로 모은 결과다.
‘대전희망인재’ 사업은 대전의 직업계고 졸업생이 지역 기업에 취업해 뿌리를 내릴 수 있도록 취업 지원부터 후학습, 주거 등 정주 여건 개선까지 패키지로 지원하는 대전교육발전특구의 핵심 프로젝트다.
수도권 집중 현상에 대응해 ‘지역 인재 양성-지역 취업-지역 거버넌스’라는 지역 생존 전략을 구체화했다.
이번에 출범한 추진단은 의사결정을 담당하는 ‘협의체’와 현장 실행력을 높이는 ‘T/F’라는 두 개의 축으로 운영된다.
추진단은 출범 직후인 오는 23일 제1차 협의회를 열고 사업의 세부 추진 방향과 선발 기준안을 공유할 계획이다. 이 자리에서는 각 기관별 역할 분담과 함께 인재들이 대전에 머물 수 있는 실질적인 정주 지원 방안이 집중적으로 논의된다.
교육청은 이번 추진단 출범을 기점으로 ‘대전희망인재’ 사업이 단순히 교육청만의 과제가 아닌 지역사회의 공동 프로젝트로 전환될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
인재 선발부터 정착까지 관계 기관들이 긴밀히 협력하는 ‘원스톱 지원 체계’가 구축됨에 따라 지역 소멸 위기 극복의 새로운 대안이 될 전망이다.
