국민의힘 홍석준 의원(대구 달서갑)은 대구경북 첨단의료산업진흥재단이 3대 이사장에 이어 차기 이사장까지 또 중앙부처 출신 퇴직 공무원이 임명된 것을 두고 “지역 의료산업의 현실을 무시하고, 지역 의료계의 기대를 저버린 무책임한 인사”라고 지적하며 강한 규탄에 나섰다.

홍석준 의원은 “3년 전 복지부 출신 인사가 재단의 이사장으로 임명되면서 중앙에서 쌓은 노하우를 통해 지역 의료산업을 활성화해줄 것을 기대했지만 지역 의료에 대한 인식과 소통 부족으로 여전히 침체를 벗어나지 못했다”고 비판했다.
그러면서 “이런 상황에서 또 다시 지역 연고도 전혀 없는 중앙부처 출신 퇴직 공무원을 임명한 것은 문재인 정부 내내 논란이 됐던 TK 지역 인사 홀대를 여과 없이 보여준 처사”라고 지적했다.
앞서 대경 첨단의료산업진흥재단은 보건복지부 출신인 현 이사장의 임기 만료에 맞춰 차기 이사장 공모를 진행하였으며 차기 이사장 선임을 위한 추천위원회에서 가장 높은 평가를 받아 1위로 추천된 지역 의료계 인사가 배제되고, 2위로 추천된 퇴직 공무원이 낙점된 것이라는 의혹이 불거져 논란이 가중되고 있다.
홍 의원은 대구경북 첨단의료산업진흥재단과 함께 출발한 오송 첨단의료산업진흥재단이 3대에 이어 4대 이사장까지 연이어 지역 의료계 인사를 이사장에 임명한 사실을 언급하며 “이에 반해 대구경북 첨단의료산업진흥재단은 내리 2번이나 중앙부처 출신 낙하산 인사를 강행한 것을 보면서 재단의 이사장 자리가 중앙부처 출신 퇴직공무원의 낙하산 정거장으로 고착화되는 것은 아닌지 매우 우려스럽다”고 말했다.
홍 의원은 “지역 연고가 전혀 없는 중앙부처 출신 인사가 이사장으로 결정되면서 지역 의료계에서는 전임 이사장처럼 지역 의료산업의 인식 부족과 지역 의료 업계 등과의 소통 부재를 우려하는 목소리가 벌써부터 나오고 있다”면서 “지역 의료산업 생태계와 단절된 운영으로 대구경북 첨단의료산업진흥재단을 비롯한 지역 의료산업의 ‘탈 대구화’가 가속화되지는 않을지 걱정된다”고 전했다.
아울러 홍 의원은 “그동안 지역 의료산업 발전을 위해, 그리고 글로벌 첨복으로 나아가기 위해 노력하고 있는 지역 의료계가 금번 인사로 동요되지 않고, 앞으로도 대구가 대한민국을 대표하는 첨단 의료산업의 전초기지로 거듭날 수 있도록 지역 국회의원으로서 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않을 것”이라고 밝혔다.
