대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈)가 교육부 주관의 2021년 대학 기본역량 진단 가결과 자율개선대학인 일반재정지원대학에 선정됐다.
교육부와 한국교육개발원이 대학구조개혁위원회 심의를 거쳐 17일 각 대학에 통보한 2021년 대학 기본역량 진단 가결과에 따르면 전국에서 일반대 136개교, 전문대 97개교가 일반재정 지원 대학으로 선정됐다.

대학 기본역량 진단은 대학의 발전계획과 성과, 교육여건, 대학운영의 책무성, 교육과정 운영, 학생 지원, 교육성과 등 6개의 항목으로 구성되었으며 관련 정량지표와 정성지표의 진단 결과를 합산해 결과를 도출하는 방식으로 진행되었다.
이번 평가에서 일반재정지원대학으로 선정된 대구한의대는 오는 2022년부터 2024년까지 3년간 대학혁신지원사업과 국가 및 지자체의 특수 목적 재정 지원을 받게 되며 재학생은 국가장학금 및 학자금 대출 등의 다양한 혜택을 받을 수 있게된다.
변창훈 총장은 “학령인구 감소 등 지방대학이 처해있는 어려운 상황속에서도 전교직원들이 한마음으로 노력한 결과 좋은 성과를 얻을 수 있어서 기쁘고 함께 노력해 준 교직원들에게 감사의 말씀을 전한다”라고 하며 “앞으로도 대학의 지속적인 교육환경 개선과 대학의 이미지 제고를 통하여 학생들의 만족도를 높이고 건강한 인재를 양성하는대학, 지역사회와 함께하는 대학이 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
