계명대(총장 신일희)가 지역사회 봉사를 위한 새로운 아이디어를 얻기 위해 공모전을 개최하여 새롭고 다양한 봉사 플랫폼을 구축해 적용해 나갈 예정이다.
계명대 대구경북사회혁신지원단이 주관한‘2021학년도 공과대학 전공 특화 봉사 아이디어 공모전’은 코로나19로 봉사 참여 기회가 줄어든 재학생의 봉사 기회 확대와 단순 노력 봉사 기획을 넘어 새로운 봉사 아이디어를 모집하기 위해 마련됐다.

이번 공모전에서는 총 17건의 아이디어가 접수되어 이중 면접 심사를 거쳐 최종 3건의 수상작이 선정되었으며 대상 수상의 영예는 계명대 신소재공학과 ‘계신사’ 팀이 차지했다.
계신사 팀은 ‘계명대 신소재 사람들’의 줄임말로 폐기된 마스크의 재활용을 통한 생활용품 탄생이라는 프로젝트 주제로 참가해 좋은 평가를 얻으며 대상을 수상했다.
우수상은 ‘화공심봉사’팀이 차지한 가운데, 화학공학과 학생들이 ‘CSI 과학수사대’라는 프로젝트명으로 지역아동기관 학생들과 함께 기초적인 화학실험을 진행할 예정이다. 장려상인 동글팀은 장애인을 위한 음성인식 어플을 개발해 장애인들의 의사소통에 도움을 줄 예정이다.
시상식에 참가한 동글팀 김경민 학생은 “공모전을 끝으로 시상식과 같이 멋진 자리와 아이디어를 펼칠 수 있는 기회가 생긴 것에 감사하다.”며 “이 봉사 아이디어를 통해 실제 세상을 바꾸는 데 조금이나마 기여하고 싶다.”고 포부를 밝혔다.
이인선 대구경북사회혁신지원단장은 축사를 통해 “계명대학교는 계명1%사랑나누기 기금을 통해 다양한 봉사활동 재원을 마련하고 있다”며 “공부도 중요하지만 봉사나 다른 활동을 통해 여러분 미래를 설계하길 바란다.”고 전했다.
