경북교육청(교육감 임종식)이 경북도의회(의장 고우현)와 함께 도내 모든 학생에게 ‘온학교 교육회복학습지원’ 30만 원을 지원한다고 밝혔다.
지난 2일 경북도의회 의장실에 모인 임종식 교육감, 고우현 경북도의회 의장, 조현일 교육위원회 위원장, 최병준 예산결산특별위원회 위원장은 학생 교육 회복을 통한 코로나19 극복을 위해 힘을 합치기로 뜻을 모았다.

이번 지원은 코로나19로 인한 학습결손, 온라인 수업에 따른 사회성 결여, 대면 수업을 하더라도 교육 혜택을 충분히 받지 못하는 등 학생들의 교육결손 회복과 가정에서의 자녀 지도 부담 등 학부모의 피해 회복을 위해 마련되었다.
‘온학교 교육회복학습지원’ 885억 원 편성은 교육위원회 조현일 위원장과 교육위원들의 교육결손 회복과 지역경제 활성화를 위한 적극적인 성원이 있었기에 가능했던 것으로 알려진다.
이들은 코로나19로 학습권 피해를 입은 모든 학생에게 세심한 배려와 학습지원을 통해 교육회복을 위한 교육청의 각별한 노력을 당부했다.
이번 지원은 지난해 경북도의회에서 발의한 ‘경상북도교육청 교육재난지원금 지원 조례’에 근거하고 있으며 지원금은 학력향상을 위한 방과후학교 수강료, 도서구입, 학습 교구·교재 구입과 심리적 안정을 위해 학교에서는 금지된 숙박형체험학습, 문화활동비 등으로 사용할 수 있다.
또한 지역 경제 활성화를 위해 도내에서 사용될 수 있도록 적극 안내할 예정으로 교육청은 자체적으로 각종 사업비 절감, 연수·체험 관련 불요불급한 사업 취소 등 예산을 절감하여 재원을 마련했다.
지원 대상은 도내 모든 유.초.중.고.특수.각종.방송통신학교 학생 295,000여명이며 1인당 30만 원씩 학생들이 신속히 지원받을 수 있도록 9월 중 스쿨뱅킹으로 지급한다.
