‘제40회 대한민국미술대전’에 참가한 계명대 회화과 학생 전원이 모두 수상의 영예를 안았다.
대한민국미술대전은 (사)한국미술협회가 주관하는 공모전으로 1982년 제1회를 시작으로 올해 40회 째을 맞이하고 있다. 미술(구상, 비구상부문), 공예부문, 전통공예부문, 디자인부문, 서예부문, 문인화부문 등 다양한 작품들을 통해 아직도 ‘국전’이라고 불리는 국내에서 가장 권위 있는 공모전이다.
(사)한국미술협회가 주관한 이번 대한민국미술대전 구상부문에는 총 828점(한국화 184점, 양화 451점, 판화 26점, 조각 20점, 수채화 147점)이 출품되어 심사위원들의 엄정한 심사를 거쳐 대상 1점, 최우수상 1점, 우수상 5점, 서울특별시장상 1점, 서울시의회의장상 3점, 평론가상 6점, 특선 106점, 입선 175점 총 304점의 수상작을 선정했다.
해당 공모전에 참여한 계명대 학생은 모두 4명으로 강나연, 고성민, 김중환, 이옥진 학생이 모두 특선에 올랐다.

계명대 회화과 강나연(여, 21세, 회화과 2) 학생은 작품‘Orchestra’ 는 공연 현장을 빛과 어둠의 대비를 통해 힘찬 터치로 오케스트라 연주 장면을 잘 표현해냈다. 고성민(남, 20세, 회화과 2) 학생은 ‘勞動(노동)’이란 작품을 선보여 아침, 건널목을 건너는 노동자들의 활기찬 모습을 다양한 얼굴들로 그려냈다.
김중환(남, 48세, 회화과 3) 씨의 ‘포스트 팬데믹’은 인간이 사라진 도시를 초현실주의적 상상으로 표현해 눈길을 끌었다. 이옥진(여, 54세, 회화과 2021년 8월 졸업) 씨는 설악산 주전골을 실경에 가깝게 사실적으로 묘사한 진경산수화 ‘아침햇살’로 특선에 올랐다.
김윤희 계명대 미술대학장은 “대한민국미술대전에서 학생들의 작품이 대거 수상한 것에 대해 기쁘게 생각하고 축하의 말을 전한다.”며, “코로나 상황이 지속되고 있지만, 교수들과 학생들이 모두 열정을 가지고 노련한 결과라고 생각한다.”고 말했다.
제40회 대한민국 미술대전 구상부문 수상작 전시회는 8월 30- 9월 9일까지 안산 예술의 전당 화랑전시관에서 전시될 예정이다.

All Keimyung University painting students who participated in the ‘40th Korean Art Exhibition’ were honored with the award.
The Korea Art Exhibition is a contest hosted by the Korean Art Association, and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, starting with the first in 1982. Na-yeon Kang (Female, 21 years old, painting department 2) student at Keimyung University’s painting ‘Orchestra’ well expressed the orchestra performance scene with a powerful touch through the contrast between light and darkness. Ko Seong-min (male, 20 years old, painting department 2) student presented a work called '勞motion (labor),' which depicts the lively images of workers crossing the railroad crossing in the morning with various faces.
Kim Jung-hwan (male, 48 years old, painting department 3)’s ‘Post Pandemic’ drew attention by expressing a city where humans have disappeared in a surrealistic imagination. Ok-Jin Lee (female, 54 years old, graduating in August 2021 from the Department of Painting) received her special mention for her authentic landscape painting ‘Morning Sunlight’, which realistically depicts Mt.
Kim Yun-hee, dean of Keimyung University's College of Art, said, "I am delighted and congratulated that the students' work won a large number of awards at the Korea Art Competition." I think,” he said.
