대구대학교(총장 김상호) 언어치료학과가 지역사회를 위한 비대면 언어재활서비스 프로그램을 진행하고 있다.
작년 10월에 개설된 언어치료학과 원격치료실은 지적장애, 자폐성장애, 학습장애 등 의사소통에 어려움을 겪고 있는 환자들을 대상으로 비대면 언어재활서비스를 무료로 제공하고 있다.

재활을 위한 언어진단, 진단 기반 재활 계획 수립, 개별화 재활서비스 제공 등 모든 과정은 임상 교수의 철저한 지도, 감독 및 검증을 통해 학생 치료사가 주도적으로 실시한다.
특히 비대면 언어치료는 코로나 시대 속 대면 치료가 중단되어 사회적으로 고립되기 쉬운 환자에게 소통하는 즐거움을 주고 사회적 소통 창구로서의 역할도 하고 있다.
지난 1일 학생 치료사들은 재활서비스를 진행하는 울산시 시민장애인주간보호센터의 발달장애인으로부터 감사 편지와 함께 한 달에 두 번만 제작하는 ‘느린 쿠키’ 선물도 받았다.
박지영 학생(언어치료학과 3학년)은 “정성이 가득 담긴 쿠키 선물을 받아 감사하고, 비대면 치료를 위해 열심히 준비한 보람에 행복했다”며 “이 고마움을 기억하면서 앞으로도 의사소통에 어려움을 겪는 환자 치료를 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
