대구사이버대학교(총장 이근용) 사회복지학과 채현탁 교수가 제30회 대구사회복지대회에서 교육학술부문 사회복지대상을 수상했다.
지난 8일 ‘사회복지의 날’을 기념하기 위해 마련된 이번 대회에는 대구광역시 채홍호 부시장, 대구시교육청 강은희 교육감, 대구광역시의회 강민구 부의장, 대구광역시사회복지협의회 정병주 회장 등 대구 사회복지 관계자들이 참석했다.

이번 대회에서는 사회복지대상을 수상한 채현탁 교수를 포함하여 대구시장상, 대구시의장상, 대구시교육감상, 올해의 사회복지인상, 명예사회복지인상 등 47명이 수상의 영예를 안았다.
사회복지대상은 대구광역시사회복지협의회가 매년 복지실천, 복지지원, 교육학술, 사회공헌의 4부문에 걸쳐 사회복지의 향상과 발전에 기여한 개인, 단체를 선정하여 수상하는 상이다.
채 교수는 대구지역의 사회복지법인 발전, 지자체 복지 활성화, 사회복지시설 종사자의 역량 강화 등을 위한 연구 및 교육, 자문을 수행해왔으며 특히 대학과 현장 간의 협력네트워크 구축을 위한 다양한 활동에 참여해왔다.
또한 한국지역사회복지학회장, 한국사회복지학회 운영이사 등을 역임하였으며 대구사이버대학교 사회복지학과에서 18년 동안 재직하면서 고등평생교육을 통한 사회복지 후진 양성과 지역사회복지에 관한 연구 및 학문적 발전에 기여해 왔다.
채 교수는 “앞으로도 현장에 꼭 필요한 사회복지 인재 양성과 지역사회복지가 보다 활성화될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
