홍석준 의원, "문재인 정부의 급격한 탈원전 정책으로 피해 심각"

홍석준 의원(국민의힘, 대구 달서구갑)이 “문재인 정부의 급격한 탈원전 정책으로 원자력 산업계 피해 심각하다”고 비판에 나섰다.

지난 7일 홍석준 의원은 과학기술방송통신위원회의 원자력안전위원회 국정감사에서 문재인 정부의 무리한 탈원전 정책으로 붕괴된 국내 원자력 생태계 문제를 지적했다.

홍석준 의원이 제출받은 자료에 따르면 2016년 국내 원자력 산업 매출액은 약 27조 원 규모였으나 문재인 정부의 탈원전 선언 후 지속적으로 감소하여 2019년에는 약 20조 원 규모로 25% 급감한 것으로 나타났다.

이에 대해 홍 의원은 “문재인 정부를 거치면서 원전 강대국인 대한민국의 원전 생태계가 파괴됐다”고 꼬집었다.

또한 홍석준 의원은 “정부가 해외 원전 시장에 진출해 국내 원전 생태계를 유지하겠다고 했지만 뚜렷한 성과를 내지 못하고 있다”는 지적을 이어갔다.

그는 “해외 원전 수출로 돌파구를 뚫으려 했는데도 실적이 거의 없다”며 “영국 무어사이드 원전 우선 협상자에서 탈락했고, 아랍에미리트(UAE) 바라카 원전의 단독 장기정비계약(LTMA)도 놓쳤다”고 말했다.

이에 정재훈 한국수력원자력 사장은 “영국 무어사이드는 자체적 문제 때문에 중단된 것이고, 바라카 원전의 경우 장기정비 서비스계약(LTMSA)을 체결했다”면서 “우크라이나 역시 대외 공표할 내용이 아니라 말은 못하지만 물밑에서 원자력 관련 협력도 진행 중”이라고 답변했다.

이에 홍 의원은 “LTMA는 장기 정비를 단독으로 하는 것인데 LTMSA는 복수 사업자 중 하나로 정비를 하는 것”이라며 “알짜배기를 다 뺏겼다”고 말했다.

Rep. Hong Seok-joon (People's Power, Daegu Dalseogu-gap) criticized, saying, "The damage to the nuclear industry is serious due to the Moon Jae-in administration's abrupt nuclear phase-out policy."

On the 7th, Rep. Hong Seok-joon pointed out the problem of the domestic nuclear ecosystem, which had collapsed due to the Moon Jae-in government's unreasonable policy to phase out nuclear power in a state audit of the Nuclear Safety Committee of the Science and Technology Broadcasting and Communications Commission.

According to the data submitted by Rep. Hong Seok-jun, the sales of the domestic nuclear industry in 2016 were about 27 trillion won, but after the Moon Jae-in government's declaration of denuclearization, it continued to decrease, and in 2019, it fell by 25% to about 20 trillion won.

Rep. Hong pointed out that “the nuclear power plant ecosystem in Korea, a nuclear powerhouse, was destroyed during the Moon Jae-in administration.”

In addition, Rep. Hong Seok-jun continued to point out, "The government has said that it will enter the overseas nuclear power plant market and maintain the domestic nuclear power plant ecosystem, but it has not yielded clear results."

He said, “Even though we tried to make a breakthrough by exporting nuclear power plants overseas, there is little result.

In response, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power President Jeong Jae-hoon said, "UK Moorside has been suspended due to its own problems, and in the case of Barakah nuclear power plant, a long-term maintenance service contract (LTMSA) has been signed. Relevant cooperation is also in progress.”

Rep. Hong said, "LTMA is for long-term maintenance alone, but LTMSA is for maintenance by one of multiple operators.
