김승수 의원은 “우리나라가 지난 도쿄 올림픽 태권도 종목에서 사상 최초로 금메달을 획득하지 못하며 종주국의 체면을 구겼다”면서 “이는 태권도 분야의 친정권 낙하산 인사가 원인”이라고 지적에 나섰다.
김승수 의원이 문체부로부터 제출받은 ‘태권도진흥재단에 대한 특별감사보고서’에 따르면 태권도진흥재단 이상욱 전 이사장은 2018년 2월 취임한 이후 3년간의 재임기간 동안 갑질, 횡령, 배임 등의 불법을 저지른 것으로 드러났다.
전임 이사장은 구체적으로 품위훼손, 방역기준 상관없이 직원에 음주를 강요하는 갑질, 술/담배/위장약 등 개인용품 구입에 부서운영비 지출 및 객실용품 지인에게 무상 선물 등 예산·물품 사적 사용, 업무추진비로 개인경조사비 지출 등 월정직책급 부당집행, 특정업체 계약토록 압력행사와 직원 폭언 및 업무방해 등의 계약체결 부당 관여까지 온갖 갑질과 불법비리를 저지른 것으로 확인된다.
