양금희 의원, "한국가스공사, 지역경제 상생의지 낮아"

양금희 국회의원(대구 북구 갑, 산업통상중소벤처기업위원회)이 국정감사를 통해 한국가스공사에 대해 “매년 지적당하는 지역경제 상생의지가 여전히 낮다”고 지적하며 개선을 촉구했다.

양금희 의원은 “한국가스공사로부터 제출받은 국정감사 자료를 분석한 결과 농구단 유치 실적을 제외하고 본사가 위치한 대구지역의 경제 분야에는 기여가 미약하다”고 질타했다.

양 의원은 나주로 이전한 한국전력이 총 투자금액 2조1596억원, 1만1158명의 고용효과를 내며 2020년에 1단계 목표를 초과 달성한 사실을 언급하며 “한국가스공사는‘21년 총 6억원의 연구개발 예산 중 대구에 지급된 연구개발 보조비가 0원으로 작년 대구에 지급된 5천만 원과 비교하면 터무니없이 줄어들었다. 이는 가스와 전력 각 산업의 특성을 고려하더라도 안타까운 부분”이라고 말했다.

이어 그는 “연구개발비, 매체활용 홍보비 등이 수도권에 집중되어 있는 것도 문제이고 21년 계약한 공사·용역·물품 계약 등에서도 대구지역의 흔적은 찾기 어려웠으며 대구지역 사회공헌활동 또한 감소한 것으로 나타났다”고 설명했다.

양금희 의원은 “한국가스공사가 대구로 이전된 이후 반복되는 지적에도 크게 개선되지 않고 있다”고 강조하며 “대구 지역 기업과의 공사·용역·물품 계약 수치나 연구개발에 투자 비중을 확인해본 결과 대구 지역과의 상생을 위한 의지가 작년과 별반 다르지 않아 보인다”고 목소리를 높였다.

그러면서“한국가스공사는 올해 농구팀 유치를 발판 삼아 세계가스총회 등과 같은 컨퍼런스를 지속적으로 유치해 대구와 함께 발전할 수 있는 노력을 기울여주기를 바란다”고 당부하며 “세계가스총회가 일회성으로 그치지 않고 효과를 극대화 할 수 있도록 포스트 계획을 선제적으로 준비, 세계적인 컨퍼런스로 거듭날 수 있도록 지역과 함께 노력해달라”고 거듭 강조했다.
