김천대 백열선 교수, 농촌 신활력 플러스사업 추진단장 선임

김천대학교(총장 윤옥현) 백열선 교수가 김천시 농촌 신활력플러스 사업의 추진단장으로 선임되었다.

지난 13일 김천시가 김천시 농촌 신활력플러스 사업의 운영위원회를 개최한 가운데 김천대 백열선 교수을 추진단장으로 선임하고 운영위원들을 위촉했다.

농림축산식품부가 주관하는 2021년 농촌 신활력플러스 공모사업은 농촌이 새로운 활력을 찾게하여 국가균형발전을 도모하는 사업으로 2021년부터 2024년까지 4년간 총사업비 70억 원을 투입하게 된다.

지난해 9월 사업에 최종 선정된 김천시는 그동안 관련 조례 제정 등 시행에 필요한 절차를 진행해 왔으며 이를 바탕으로 김천농촌지역의 신활력을 위해 향토자원 육성사업, 권역·마을 개발사업 등을 펼치게 되며 이를 통해 지역자산과 민간조직을 활용하여 지역특화산업을 고도화하고, 사회적 일자리 창출 및 지역의 자립적 성장기반을 구축하는 일에 주력하게 된다.

구체적인 방안으로 과일의 365일 사회적 소비를 실현하는 김천 오! 늘과일 플랫폼 구축사업을 비전으로 삼아 과일소비를 늘리는 사회적 상품개발, 안정적 판로개척, 자생적 경제조직 육성, 도농교류 확대에 주력할 계획이다.

백열선 교수는“추진위원회의 구성으로 농촌신활력플러스 사업의 기반이 마련되었으며, 또한 추진단장으로서 농촌의 활력을 불어 넣기 위한 역량 및 조직력 강화에 막중한 책임감을 느끼며, 농촌의 성장에 최선의 노력을 다 하겠다”고 말했다.

이날 김천시 이창재 부시장은 인사말을 통해 “정책사업이 끝나더라도 지역문제에 대해서 고민하고 발전 전략을 모색, 실천하는‘사람(조직)’이 남아 활동 할수 있도록 위원님들의 경험과 의견을 사업 추진 중에 많은 조언을 해줄 것을 바란다”고 당부했다.
