김천대학교(총장 윤옥현) 사회복지학과(학과장 이예종)의 학생 23명이 경상북도 서부노인보호전문기관(관장 수진스님)의 노인인권지킴이단으로 위촉되었다.
김천대학교는 지난 8월 25일 사회복지학과 학생 23명이 경상북도 서부노인보호전문기관에서 주최한 제1기 노인인권지킴이단 교육을 이수한데 이어 19일 최종 위촉 되었다고 밝혔다.

이번에 위촉된 23명의 1기 노인인권지킴이단은 노인인권 및 학대에 대한 인식 개선에 앞장서 노인학대를 예방하고 경상북도 서부 지역 내 학대받는 어르신들의 사례를 발굴하며 자신의 아이디어 및 정보공유를 통해 노인 인권을 개선하는 활동을 이어갈 예정이다.
한편 김천대학교 사회복지전공은 수어를 특화하여 복지전문가를 배출하고, 융복합 교육을 통해 휴먼서비스 인재 양성에 힘쓰고 있으며 다양한 장학혜택으로 2022학년도 신입생을 모집 중에 있다.
