경일대학교(총장 정현태)가 ‘대구국제미래자동차엑스포 2021(DIFA 2021)’에 참가해 자율주행차 기술을 선보인다.
오는 21일부터 24일까지 대구 엑스코에서 열리는 ‘대구국제미래자동차엑스포 2021(DIFA 2021)’에 참가하는 경일대학교가 지역 대학 중 최대 규모의 부스와 최고의 자율주행차 기술로 행사에 나선다고 밝혔다.

15개국에서 161개 기업과 대학이 참가하는 ‘DIFA 2021’은 대구광역시와 한국자동차공학한림원이 공동 주최하는 행사로 자율주행 및 전기 자동차와 관련한 다양한 전시가 진행된다.
이번 행사에서 경일대학교는 지역 대학 중에서는 가장 큰 규모의 부스를 설치하고 국내대학 최초로 자율주행 면허를 취득한 자율주행 셔틀버스(레스타)와 초소형 전기 자율주행차(D2), 학생들이 직접 제작한 승용 하이브리드차(아이오닉1.6) 기반의 자율주행 차량을 전시한다.
경일대 자율주행차융합기술연구소 유병용 소장은 “자율주행자동차의 발전을 위해 경일대가 보유하고 있는 자율주행 차량 플랫폼을 기반으로 자율주행 기술의 고도화와 자율주행 모빌리티 서비스를 구축해 나가겠다”며 “더불어 수준 높은 교육을 통해 자율주행차 전문 인력 양성에도 힘쓸 것”이라고 했다.
정현태 총장은 “국내 최고의 자율주행차 연구진을 교수로 초빙하고 축적된 자율주행차 기술에 대한 자신감으로 진행한 교수창업, 학교의 전폭적인 지원으로 지금의 성과에 이르렀다”라며 “경일대학교가 대한민국 자동차의 미래를 만들어나가게 될 것”이라고 강조했다.
