DGIST(총장 국양)가 최신 인공지능 기술을 메타버스로 체험하는 ‘2021 DGIF(2021 DGIST Global Innovation Festival)’를 개최한다.
오는 27일과 28일 양일간 열리는 이번 행사는 DGIST 캠퍼스 및 온라인으로 개최된다.

이번 2021 DGIF는 메타버스를 통한 개·폐회식과 포스터 세션을 비롯하여 XR 체험존과 같은 다양한 오프라인 부대행사가 마련된다.
특히 코로나19 상황을 고려하여 행사 참여자들이 직접 행사장에 오지 않아도 행사를 체험 할 수 있도록 모든 포스터 세션을 메타버스로 구축·운영해, 손쉽게 행사를 관람할 수 있도록 했다.
2021 DGIF 1일차에는 인공지능(AI)과 관련된 다양한 연구들을 주제로 기조강연과 로봇, 무인주행, 이미지 프로세싱에 대한 세션이 동시에 진행되고 2일차에는 의료 및 건강을 주제로 의료용 AI에 대한 심도 있는 세션 강연과 기조강연이 이어질 예정이다.
양일간에 걸쳐 진행되는 행사들은 오프라인 참석 및 줌을 통한 온라인 참석이 가능하며 연구성과 및 다양한 토론 세션을 통해 AI 관련 견문 넓혀갈 좋은 기회가 될 것으로 기대된다.
2021 DGIF 운영위원회 강태훈 위원장은 “이번 2021 DGIF는 최근 화두로 떠오르고 있는 AI에 대한 DGIST의 최신 연구들을 한 눈에 볼 수 있는 절호의 기회가 될 것”이라며 “특히 메타버스로 구현된 다양한 행사 참석을 통해 우리 일상에서 찾아볼 수 있는 다양한 AI기술에 대해 알아보고 이를 체험해볼 수 있는 좋은 기회가 되었으면 한다”고 말했다.
