영진전문대학교(총장 최재영)의 2021년 졸업자 302명이 코로나19로 국내 고용 환경이 악화한 상황에도 대기업에 채용되어 취업 명가로서 저력을 보였다.
기업맞춤형 주문식교육으로 유명한 영진전문대학교가 올해 2월 졸업자를 대상으로 취업 현황을 자체 조사(10월 말 기준)한 결과 국내 대기업 취업자가 302명에 달한다고 밝혔다.

영진전문대학교에 따르면 올 2월 졸업자 중 △삼성전자 10명, 삼성전기와 삼성바이오로직스에 각각 3명 등 삼성그룹 계열사에 38명, △ LG디스플레이 20명, LG이노텍 14명, LG유플러스 8명 등 LG그룹 계열사 47명, △SK하이닉스 16명, SK실트론 13명 등 SK그룹 계열사 36명, 현대자동차·현대로템 등 현대그룹 계열사에 12명이 취업한 것으로 알려진다.
또 롯데·LS 각 9명, 포스코·LIG 각 6명, KT 5명, CJ·신세계·GS·코오롱·농심 그룹에 각각 3명 등이다.
인문사회 학과들도 대기업 취업에 한몫하고 있다는 점에 주목할 필요가 있다.
경영회계서비스계열은 삼성화재, LG유플러스, 롯데하이마트 등 금융, 유통서비스 업종에 36명이나 진출했다.
관광서비스 분야 고용시장은 코로나19로 팬데믹 상황에도 영진전문대 호텔항공관광과는 호텔신라, 롯데호텔, 에어부산, 현대자동차 등 대기업 회사에 12명을 취업시키며 약진했다.
이처럼 취업 한파를 뛰어넘는 괄목할만한 취업 성적을 거둔 배경에는 인재의 수요처인 기업현장의 요구에 맞춘 주문식교육이 톡톡히 빛을 발휘한 것으로 분석하고 있다.
특히, 코로나19로 비대면이 일상화된 환경에서 학생들의 학업과 취업 역량을 끌어올리는 다양한 온라인 프로그램을 가동한 것과 학생들이 온라인을 통해 학습공동체를 구성, 학습할 수 있는 자율향상프로그램과 백호튜터링 등이 취업 경쟁력 향상에 주효했다.
여기에 더해 대학일자리플러스센터는 랜선으로 진로 상담과 자소서 지원, 면접 컨설팅을 적극적으로 펼쳐 취업 준비생들에게 큰 도움이 됐다.
지난 8월 LG디스플레이에 조기 취업한 홍진우(전자정보계열, 2년, 25) 졸업생은 “4년제 대학교를 졸업 후 전문대에 다시 입학하기까지 결정은 어려웠지만, 지금 돌이켜 보면 당시 선택으로 대기업 취업이라는 꿈을 이루게 돼 매우 만족한다”면서 “4년제 대학을 졸업하고 취업을 준비 중인 친구들이 굉장히 부러워한다”고 덧붙였다.
최재영 총장은 “4차 산업혁명이 몰고 온 신산업, 신기술에 대한 사회적 수요가 확대되고 있다. 이러한 사회적 트렌드에 맞춰 다양성과 융합적인 역량을 지닌 고품격 인재를 양성하고, 이를 통해 안정적인 취업을 할 수 있도록 대학 구성원이 혼신을 다해 노력하고 있다”고 했다.
