경북교육청(교육감 임종식)이 경상북도의용소방대연합회(회장 하경태, 마정연,(이하 ‘연합회’)와 협약을 맺고 학생 안전교육 및 안전한 교육환경 조성에 나선다.
30일 정책협의실에서 열린 MOU 체결은 미래 주역인 학생들이 밝고 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 지원하고, 지역 사회단체의 교육 기부 활성화를 통한 사회적 기능 확대를 위해 상호 협력하기 위해 마련됐다.

협약을 통해 교육청은 연합회에서 진행하는 소방 교육, 생명 존중 교육, 학교 주변 안전한 교육 환경 구축 사업 등을 경북 관내 교육기관에 안내하고, 연합회에서 요청하는 학생 안전 관련 사업에 대해 적극적으로 지원할 예정이다.
연합회는 교육기관의 학생 안전교육(심폐소생술, 소화기 사용법, 제세동기 사용법, 화재 시 대피 요령 등) 요청 시 협조하고, 학교 주변 순찰 강화를 통한 위험요인 제거와 안전한 교육환경 구축을 지원할 것으로 알려진다.
임종식 교육감은 “이번 업무협약을 통해 아이들의 안전교육이 강화되고 학교 주변의 안전이 한층 강화된다면, 모두가 안심하는 교육환경이 만들어져 아이들의 성장과 발달에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
