브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이해찬 더불어민주당 전 대표는 31일 이재명 대선후보에 대해 "재판 받는 과정에서 잘못된 이미지가 덧씌워져 그가 세운 성과들이 제대로 국민들에게 평가되지 않았다"고 밝혔다.
이해찬 전 대표는 이날 민주당 선거대책위원회가 만든 애플리케이션 '이재명 플러스'에 올린 글을 통해 "나중에 보니 이재명에게 덧씌워진 의혹들은 대부분 다 잘못된 허위였지 않았느냐"며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "나는 이 후보가 경기도지사직을 수행할 때 그와 당정 협의를 하면서 이런저런 대화를 많이 나눌 수 있었다. 그는 상당히 실용적인 사람"이라며 "결코 사안을 이념적으로 생각하는 사람이 아니다. 유시민 전 노무현재단 이사장이 이 후보를 '발전도상인'이라고 비유한 것은 아주 적절한 표현"이라고 설명했다.
이어 그는 "2017년의 이재명과 2021년의 이재명은 다르다"면서 "그는 상당한 발전을 했고 그 증거는 경기도정 실적에서 여실히 드러난다. 그는 지켜보던 사람들이 미안할 정도로 혼자서 아군없이 어려운 난경을 극복했다. 스스로 고난을 견디고 미래를 개척해 나가는 참 대단한 의지와 능력을 가진 사람"이라고 강조했다.
또한 "노무현, 문재인처럼 이재명 또한 시대의 소명을 업고 제대로 가야 할 사람"이라며 "이번에야말로 미래를 개척하는 그의 여정이 외롭지 않도록 행복한 대한민국을 염원하는 모든 분이 힘을 모아 주시길 바란다"고 지지를 호소했다.

반면 윤석열 국민의힘 대선후보에 대해선 "만나본 적 없는 사람을 평가하기는 힘들다"고 운을 떼면서도 "상대 후보를 '확증적 범죄자'로 표현하는 후보는 표로 심판을 받아야 한다"고 비판했다.
이 전 대표는 "윤 후보의 주 120시간 노동 발언, 최저임금제 무력화 발언 등을 종합해보면 그의 사고가 80년대에 머물러 있는 게 아닌가 싶다"면서 "만약 대통령이 근로기준법상 노동자를 위한 최소한의 기준들을 안 지켜도 된다는 의식으로 나라를 경영한다면 자신과 가족의 생계를 위해 노동을 하는 국민들은 불행하게 될 수밖에 없다"고 지적했다.
그러면서 "두 후보의 지난 행적와 발언을 종합해볼 때 나는 두 후보의 결정적 차이는 앞으로 미래를 개척해 나가느냐 과거로 회귀하느냐 라고 본다"고 덧붙였다.
