이승찬 계룡건설 사장이 16일 대전시체육회에 체육발전기금으로 4억 원을 기부했다.
앞서 대전시체육회에 6억 원을 기부한 바 있는 이승찬 사장은 이번 기부를 통해 총 10억 원을 기부하며 대전시체육회장 취임시 공약사항을 이행 완료하게 됐다.
지난 2020년 1월 대전시체육회 민선1기 회장으로 취임한 이승찬 사장은 선진 체육의 토대 마련과 재무건전성을 높이기 위해 3년간 총 10억 원을 대전시체육회에 기부하기로 공약한 바 있었다.
기부금은 대전시 체육 활성화를 위한 주요 사업인 전문체육 경쟁력 강화, 생활체육 선진시스템 구축, 학교체육 활성화, 회원종목단체 소통 강화, 선진체육행정 구현 등을 위해 사용되고 있다.
특히 전문체육과 학교체육 활성화를 위해 기획한 ‘꿈드림프로젝트사업’은 글로벌 체육인재로의 성장을 돕는 사업으로 어린 선수들에게 큰 버팀목이 되고 있다.
현재까지 총17명에게 6천여만원의 훈련장학금과 대회출전비, 대전스포츠과학센터의 맞춤형 지원을 통해 국가대표의 꿈을 응원하고 있다.
이승찬 사장은 “기부금은 시 보조금 예산의 부족한 부분들을 보완하고 위드코로나와 체육회 법인화 등 변화의 시대에 대전체육 선진화 기반을 공고히 하고 대전체육이 한단계 더 도약할 수 있도록 효과적으로 사용할 것“이라고 밝혔다.
