철도 어린이집이 확대된다.
23일 국가철도공단은 저출산과 지역사회 보육문제 해소를 위해 철도어린이집을 전국으로 확대한다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 지난 21일 국토교통부와 보건복지부가 체결한 ‘철도어린이집 조성 확대를 위한 업무 협약’에 따른 것이다.
이에따라 공단은 협약 이행의 첫 단추로 오는 3월 말까지 전국 7개 역을 대상으로 지자체 공모를 시행한다.
철도어린이집은 국공립 형태로 보육정원 30명, 시설면적 300㎡ 내외로 쾌적하고 안전하게 꾸며진다. 저녁 9시 30분까지 연장형으로 운영돼 보육비와 자녀 등하원 부담 해소 등 이용자 만족도 클 것이라는 것이 공단측의 설명이다..
한편, 철도공단은 지난 2019년 지자체 협업을 통해 평내호평역 철도어린이집을 최초 개원하여 성공적으로 운영 중이다. 올해 하반기 개원을 목표로 행신역, 탄현역, 여주역 어린이집 등이 조성중이다.
