사단법인 한국나무의사협회는 23일 경기 수원시 수원컨벤션센터에서 열린 ‘2022년 제1차 연찬회 및 정기총회’에서 제2대 회장으로 김판석(65) 강원대 산림환경과학대학 초빙교수를 선임했다.
김 신임 회장은 경북 포항 출신으로 1977년 산림청에서 공직생활을 시작해 경영지원과장, 기획재정담당관, 남부지방산림청장을 거쳐 한국산림복지진흥원 상임이사, 강원대 초빙교수를 역임했다.
그는 산림행정에 대한 폭넓은 이해와 전문지식을 바탕으로 내부적으로 긍정적인 추진력과 통합조정력이 뛰어나며, 외부적으로는 대외 교섭력이 높다는 평가를 받고 있다.
김 회장은 “아파트 단지나 공원 등 생활권 수목이나 보호수 관리를 비전문가에게 맡길 경우 농약 오남용과 같은 안전을 위협하는 문제를 초래할 수 있다”면서 “국민들이 건강한 숲을 찾을 수 있도록 전문적인 치료와 방제를 통해 수목복지의 전문성을 강화할 것”이라고 말했다.
