브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 화천대유자산관리 대주주 김만배씨가 지난 2011년 부산저축은행 불법 대출 수사 당시 박영수 전 특별검사와 주임검사였던 윤석열 국민의힘 대선후보를 통해 사건을 무마했다는 음성파일이 공개됐다.
지난 6일 뉴스타파는 김만배씨가 대장동 검찰 수사 직전인 지난해 9월15일 신학림 전 언론노조위원장과 나눈 대화 음성파일을 공개했다. 이 녹취록에는 "김씨가 박영수 변호사에게 (불법 대출 브로커) 조아무개씨를 소개했고, 박 변호사와 윤석열 당시 대검 중수부 검사를 통해 부산저축은행 사건을 해결했다"는 내용이 담겼다.
정치권에선 대선을 사흘 앞두고 폭로된 이번 녹취록이 대선 판세를 바꿀 막판 변수로 인식하고 민감하게 반응하고 있다.
민주당측에선 "대장동 특혜 의혹의 실체가 확인된 것"이라며 윤 후보측을 강하게 압박하고 나섰다. 반면 국민의힘 측에선 "일방적인 거짓말"이라며 터무니없는 주장이라고 선을 그었다.
송영길 대표는 7일 오전 MBC라디오 '김종배의 시선집중'에서 "저희가 대장동 몸통이 박영수·윤석열이라고 이야기했을 때 (국민들은) 긴가민가했을 것인데, 이제 그 실체가 확인됐다는 생각이 든다"면서 "(윤석열 후보가) 김만배는 상갓집에서 잠깐 스쳐가는 사이였고 알지도 못한다고 했는데 모를 수 없다는 사실이 확인된 것이고, 김만배 누나가 어떻게 연희동 윤석열 씨 아버지 집을 사줬는지도 다 연결되는 것 같다"고 주장했다.
강병원 선거대책위원회 수석대변인도 이날 논평에서 "이제 누가 범인인지가 분명해졌다. 불법 비리를 눈감아준 자가 범인"이라고 했고, 조승래 선대위 수석대변인도 "모든 게 거짓말이었고, 이 후보에게 누명 씌우기였다"며 "뻔뻔쓰러운 거짓말을 일삼으면서 적반하장 후안무치로 살아온 윤 후보는 더 이상 후보 자격이 없다"고 밝히는 등 총공세에 나섰다.
반면 이양수 국민의힘 선거대책본부 수석대변인은 6일 입장문을 통해 "분명히 밝히지만 윤석열 후보는 김만배와 아무런 친분이 없고, 김만배의 일방적 거짓말을 토대로 봐주기 수사 운운하는 것은 터무니없다"고 모두 사실이 아니라고 강력 부인했다.
이 수석대변인은 "'대장동 게이트'가 언론에 보도된 후 검찰 수사를 앞두고 김만배가 지인에게 늘어놓은 변명을 그대로 믿을 수 없다"면서 "김만배는 신학림 전 위원장에게 자신의 결백을 강변했지만 그 후 밝혀진 증거들은 전혀 그렇지 않았다. 김만배는 (녹취록에서) 이재명 후보를 계속 감싸는 발언만 하는데, 범인이 보호하려는 사람이 곧 공범"이라고 반박했다.
그는 이어 "김만배는 유동규, 남욱, 정영학과 수익 배분 대화를 하면서 천화동인 1호 주인은 따로 있다는 취지로 말했는데, 공범들끼리 나눈 수익 관련 대화가 믿을만한 증거"라며 "최종 의사결정권자이자 설계자인 이재명 후보가 의심받는 것은 당연하다"고 주장했다.
원희룡 국민의힘 선거대책본부 정책본부장은 대선 3일 전 뉴스타파가 ‘김만배 녹취록’을 보도한 데 대해 각자의 이해관계가 얽혀 나온 일종의 공작이라고 했다.
원희룡 본부장은 이날 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "이재명을 방패막이로 삼으려 했던 김만배와, 언론노조 위원장 출신인 뉴스타파 전문위원과, 뉴스타파의 삼각 작업에 의한 합작품"이라며 "이재명 더불어민주당 대선 후보가 이야기하는 김만배 녹취라는 게, 대장동 문제가 터진 뒤에 김만배와 뉴스타파가 녹음했다는 것이고, 대통령 선거 3일 전에 뉴스타파가 보도한 것"이라고 지적했다.
뉴스타파가 6개월 전 녹음된 파일을 대선 본투표 직전 공개한 것 자체가 정치 공작적 의도가 있다는 주장이다.
원 본부장은 "김만배 실명이 나와서 보도가 연달아 터지고 폭로가 나온 뒤인 지난해 9월 15일, 신학림 뉴스타파 전문위원이 김만배와 대화한 내용이라면서 녹음파일을 전달해 보도된 것"이라며 "박영수-윤석열이 부산저축은행 건을 봐줬다. 이재명은 대장동에서 원칙적으로 응해서 사업자들을 힘들게 했다’는 것이고, 그 외에 특별한 근거나 다른 구체적 주장은 없다”고 강조했다.
원희룡 본부장은 앞서 올린 게시글에서도 "부산저축은행 대출은 새로운 사실이 아니다. 자금을 부산에서 가져왔든 시베리아에서 가져왔든, 남욱(변호사)과 김만배에게 개발이익을 몰아준 대장동 비리의 몸통에 대해서는 달라질 게 없다"고 이재명 후보가 몸통이라고 재차 주장해왔다.
