브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 안민석 더불어민주당 의원은 이재명 전 대선후보의 향후 정치활동에 대해 "당권과 대권 사이에 2년 후에는 이 고문이 종로 출마 정도면 이재명이란 정치인 정치도 더 키우고 국민적 기대가 요구하는 국가지도자로서 숙성되는 경로를 거칠 것 같다"고 전망했다.
경기도지사 출마를 공식화한 안민석 의원은 28일 MBC라디오 '김종배의 시선집중'에서 "문재인 대통령 학습효과를 주목할 필요가 있다. 그분은 대선에 떨어지고 당권을 잡고 그리고 다시 대권으로 가지 않았냐"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "여의도 경험이 없는 이재명 민주당 상임고문으로서는 당권 도전에 대한 요구가 굉장히 강하고 이후에 자연스럽게 대권으로 이어지지 않겠냐"라며 "이재명 고문은 워낙 판단력이 탁월하신 분이니까 잘 판단하겠지만 제가 이 고문이라면 그렇게 로드맵을 잡을 것"이라고 설명했다.
민주당 일각에서 6·1 지방선거에서 나와야 하는 것 아니냐는 의견이 나오는데 대해선 "당장에 이재명을 조기등판해야 된다는 것은 현실적이지도 않고 전혀 동의하지 않는다"며 "이 훌륭한 정치인을 우리가 정치적 자산으로 써야 하고, 불쏘시개로 써서는 안 된다"고 주장했다.
그러면서 "저는 조기등판론보다는 지방선거에서는 이 고문이 백의종군하시라 그런 말씀을 드리고 있다. 백의종군하면서 헌신하는 모습, 그리고 지방선거에 기여해서 많은 후보들에게 도움을 줘서 좋은 지방선거 성과를 내는데 헌신할 수 있도록 하는 것, 그것이 가장 적절한 역할이라고 본다"고 했다.
안 의원은 또한 "이재명 고문은 대선에선 졌지만 굉장히 큰 선물을 받았다. 백낙청 선생이 ‘DJ 이후 가장 훌륭한 정치인’으로 평가하지 않았냐"라고 말하기도 했다. 앞서 백낙청 서울대 명예교수는 한 유튜브 방송에서 "이재명은 김대중 이후 최고의 정치지도자"라고 말한 바 있다.
